|Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to your community. By volunteering with the Humane Society of Lewisville (HSL), you will be helping some very deserving cats and dogs get a second chance at a loving home. Along the way, you'll also meet new people, learn new skills, and have a lot of fun.
Our biggest volunteer needs at the moment are foster homes. We are also looking for someone to assist our dog and cat program coordinators, as well as the other positions listed below.
HSL Volunteer Needs
We do not have a shelter. All of our animals are housed in foster homes. Our biggest volunteer need is for loving foster homes. People often say they can't foster for fear of becoming too attached to the cat or dog. While you do love and care for your foster pet, the pure joy of seeing an animal find his new family is more than worth it. And knowing that you are saving an animal from death by euthanasia completely outweighs any sadness at parting with your foster. Please consider opening your home to homeless cats or dogs by becoming a foster. HSL provides all the food, toys, necessities and veterinary care. You would only need to provide your home and love.
We are looking for a webmaster to maintain our website and make a few minor tweaks here and there.
Are you interested in raising funds to help the cats and dogs in your community? We would welcome an enthusiastic person to head up our fundraising efforts. Can you come up with creative ways to earn money? Do you enjoy a challenge? Then this volunteer opportunity is for you.
We are in need of someone to pursue grants for our organization. Grant writing requires someone that is thorough, patient, and with an attention to detail.
If you are interested in any of the above volunteer opportunities, or if you have suggestions or ideas for volunteer opportunities that may benefit HSL, please fill out the form below and hit submit. Our volunteer coordinator will be in touch with you. Thank you!
