New Lewisville Animal Ordinances

At the beginning of this year, the Lewisville City Council approved an ordinance prohibiting the unlawful restraint of dogs, the sale of animals from public property, the use of animals as prizes and the transportation of animals in the open bed of a vehicle. Be sure to tell your city council member "thank you" for these important steps toward making our community a better one for animals.

HSL Supports Our Troops

A dedicated friend of the Humane Society of Lewisville (HSL) also happens to be a dedicated friend of many people serving in the armed forces overseas.  Recently she called to ask if HSL might have some supplies to donate.  It seems that she received an email from a friend who interacts frequently with the IED dog unit at his base in Afghanistan.  Their unit of 16 soldiers and 16 dogs compiled a small request list of items that both the soldiers and their dogs need.  If you are interested in helping, please click here to read more .
